High School Skinny!!!

So, I know that it has been a while since I lasted blogged about anything.... And, I am really sorry. But, I am back on top of it now.

Last time I blogged I told you that I was going to get my measurements and everything..... So... here they are.
Weight = 185 lbs
Body Fat Percentage = 32.1%
Fat Weight = 59 lbs
Lean Body Mass = 125.61 lbs
My target Body Fat = 26%
My Ideal (healthy) Weight = 169.74

So, I really need to lose 15.26 lbs of fat

Not as bad as I thought, or feel, but still I have some work to do. We are on an eight week training program, so after the eight weeks we will reweigh and remeasure body fat to see how we are doing. I will keep you all posted!!

Since I had this done on July 7th 2011 My mom and I have been going to KoKo AT LEAST three times a week and doing weight training followed by cardio. We have changed our way of eating too. We are eating less processed foods, lot of fruits and vegetables, drinking lots of water, one protein shake everyday (EAS light... YUM) natural peanut butter, and reading the labels of EVERYTHING we eat. Make sure that everything you eat has a protein. We eat 4-5 small meals a day and everyone of those meals has a protein. For example:
Breakfast: 2 boiled eggs and a peach
Snack: An Apple with Natural Peanut butter
Lunch: Homemade grilled chicken sandwich with a salad
Snack: Protein shake
Dinner: Roasted Chicken with Broccoli and a Carb Smart fudge popsicle if I need something sweet.

It is very important to make sure that everything you eat has 7g of sugar or less, I am trying to stay under 5g per serving. Also, watch the amount of sodium.

It did seem a little daunting when we first started, but it is quickly becoming second nature. Its important to realize that you can't change everything in a day or week. Make sure you start with baby steps, and if you have a splurge moment don't give up or get mad. It happens to the best of us.

More to come soon.... I hope this helps and inspires you all to join me :)  And, remember Rome wasn't built in a day...it takes time, determination, and a lot of HARD work!!

Time to SLIM down!!!

So, I went to the gym today......
I joined KoKo Fitness in Belle Meade and it is really cool!! It is a virtual personal trainer. You do your card and workout in 30 minutes at least 3times. The card machines have MP3 players on them that you plug your ear buds into and you pick which exercise you want to do and a trainer guides you through it every step of the way. I did the Moderate Hill Sprint on the elliptical today for 15minutes and it KICKED my butt, in a good way :) After that you go to a machine, and by the way all of your exercises are done on one yes that's right ONE machine. It is amazing!!! Once at the Machine you have a monitor that has written instructions as well as a person demonstrating what you need to do. The reason that this program is so effective is because it wants and makes sure that you keep a moderate pace to keep your heart rate up. Once you do the weight training for 15minutes your workout is done and that is it!! I LOVE it.
Tomorrow I am getting my BMI, body fat analysis, and a meal plan done and I will post all of that. Yes, I am going to tell you all what I weight, my BMI, my measurements, and my body fat percentage. I feel like this will help anyone who is trying to lose weight and I hope to motivate anyone who has been wanting to lose weight, but cant seem to "find the time"!! I'm here to tell you you have to MAKE the time. And, the time has come to get fit!!!
So, stay tuned for all the juicy details on how it goes tomorrow at the gym and the new meal plan...... it will be interesting :)

MY BOYS!!

Moving UP!!!!

So, the move has been VERY eventful!! I shouldn't complain I guess since we all made it to Tennessee safely, but there is one thing that I would like to share.
I ordered a couch off of eBay from a company in Florida. They were very nice and it was delieved Friday, which was great since I had nowhere to sit in the new place. The problem occurred when it was delivered because it was delivered through a shipping company.. Shipping companies are not responsible for getting the merchandise into the residence, they are not going to help set it up, and if it gets dirty that is not their problem. So, thankfully I had three guys there to help and the driver was nice enough to help too, but it had to go up three flights of stairs and be squeezed through two doors. So they unwrapped the cream sofa and pushed it through two doors and their dirty hand prints were all over my new cream sofa. I was devastated!!!! So, my wonderful precious mother calmed me down and we went to Publix and bought some fabric spot remover, S-32, and all the hand prints came out fine.
Me life lesson that I wanted to pass on to y'all is... if you buy something online make sure you call the company and ask them if they are going to ship it directly to you or do they ship it to a moving company who will come and install it in your home and make sure that it is free of any blemishes.
I learned my lesson the hard way and I don't want y'all to go through what I went through. But, all in all the sofa is great and there are no dirty spots on it thanks to the worlds GREATEST mother!! :)

Beginner Photographs

This is the Cathedral in Jackson Square in New Orleans
It is such a beautiful place. I am SO in love with New Orleans.

Just a random door!! One of the many things I love about photography is that you can take the simplest of things and make them a work of art.

Took this one when I was eating at a Cafe in New Orleans

This is the front door of a Greek Orthodox Church in Spanish Fort Alabama.
It is beautiful!!

A blooming hydrangea.

This is Sam, he was a neighborhood cat at another Cafe in New Orleans.
He LOVED to have his picture made ;)

Hello To ALL!!

Hey Everyone. I just wanted to make a post welcoming everyone and I hope that you choose to follow and help me along this journey.

My journey is as follows:
I graduated nursing school in May and I am waiting to take boards in TN. The process of applying to take boards has been VERY exhausting, I just hope and pray that boards go a lot smoother.
We are moving from South Alabama to Nashville TN in less than 3 days, and I thought that I was doing good about getting everything packed early..... but our stuff seems to be multiplying and I can't seem to get anything DONE. My parents are coming down tomorrow thank goodness to help us get everything ready. Thank the good Lord for parents!!!
My husband starts CRNA school at MTSA in a few weeks...
AND, to top it all off... I want to be high school skinny again!! So, another addition to my journey is to lose 30lbs in 3 months. I feel that if I do this on my blog I will have more motivation to stick to it, because I know y'all will hold me accountable... :D which is what I need. I encourage you to do this with me if you would like, I will be adding diet and work out plans soon. Just keep checking in.
I also LOVE photography so I will be sharing some of my photos with you and I love DIY projects. So I will definitely be posting all my DIY projects for my new place.

I hope y'all enjoy my blog and please let me know what you think of it :)

Thank you and God bless!!
